It’s new and it’s unique- but is it worth it? Check out what the Snoppa Atom has to offer that other smartphone gimbals don’t.

quick question: if i hold the handle horizontally, will i then be able to tilt the phone to shoot straight up or down, or am i still “locked” in the limited vertical movement???
How many follow/lock modes does this gimbal have?
Although apparently, the company that makes this gimbal is in talks with FiLMic Pro at the moment n regards to integration I wonder how much functionality is lost currently by shooting with the FiLMic Pro app as opposed to the Snoppa app. Also worth mentioning the Atom is on backorders and the Android app appears to be buggy.
can the customized button help to switch between the front and rear camera? Thx
Is the app required?
Would you recommend this gimbal over the Zhiyun Smooth 4 or the DJI Osmo Mobile 2?
In another video

It is claimed that this gimbal has certain limitations for crane video. Can you test and elaborate?
Hi Scott,
Good to see a good review on Snoopa Atom.
How’s the stabilization?
For the app, did you try both iOS and Android?
which site to buy?
Thanks for this review. I checked it out at the local camera store and although the size is very nice, the tilt limitation is a real dealbreaker. Was all ready to purchase but 45 degree tilt is too l ittle
Another great review! That tilt limitation is an excellent catch by you. No one would be able to tell by the promo videos, and other reviewers have never mentioned it. I was unsure about whether I jumped the gun on my Vilta M purchase, but now I feel much better! LOL Thanks again and keep up the great work!
Hi Scott! Is it possible to tilt camera vertically more if hold snoppa from side? If i need pan fotage of close up object? Thank you.
Hey man! Great video! What would you say the quality of the video is? How much worse is it vs the stock camera on the iPhone? Obv, the camera is the same, but the processing might be different, in a bad way. Pre ordered mine couple months ago, afair, waiting for my turn to come 😀
Thanks for the review. Love the workaround for the tilt limitation!
Sir, which one is the best feature compare to vilta freevision?
This company is rubbish and they steel your money. They say fulfilled on status the told me 2 months ago it was shipped. And still nothing no contact from anyone not even a courier company
SCAM SCAM SCAM WARNING WARNING WARNING
They’ve updated the firmware with wireless battery indicator icon. Great gimbal is its working, but mine struggles to turn itself into portrait mode and vibrates and dies off.. already seeking help fm support. Hope they’d reply and address the issue.
Im waiting for mine was promised it will come mid nov. Until now never arrived.
I am an early backer and got mine today. 310g payload, which means you can attach lenses. That’s a big plus for me. However the resolution in camera app v2.2.2 goes up to 2K 30, and max frame rate is 60fps at 1080p and below which is kind of ridiculous at this day and age. Also, calibration did it work for me at all.. Like you said, hope they fix these quirks quickly. I really love the physical design and the potential it promises.
So far the best review of this gimbal. I didn’t back it at Indiegogo because I really wanted other people to try it first — besides there was no guarantee that they would deliver the product and it’s quite pricey (I was looking at the audio pack).
Two requests:
1. Can I request that you test this with an external mic?
2. I would love to see test footage with android phones because if I’m not mistaken, the video stabilization in iPhones can’t be turned off which means that the phone’s stabilization and the gimbal’s stabilization are working against each other (can’t remember where I read that thought).
Also, just a comment on your videos. Since it looks like you’re shooting at 30fps, perhaps you can try rendering it to 24fps. Usually the footage looks a lot smoother once you do that.
And one more question) If you can pick only one for yourself : Snoppa or Vilta M ? Thanks again!
Excellent review, thank you. I watched a couple of other reviews and they did not go into the detail that you have, or bother with explaining any limitations. I shall watch more of your reviews now, to see what you think of the Vilta M and Osmo 2.
Thanks for mentioning the tilt limitation, you’re the first to call it out that I’ve seen.
I was one of the backer of this gimbal and received it one week ago. It
works pretty well but I have a problem with my Galaxy S7. All photos and
films are saved by default not on SD card but on the main storage of
the smartphone. So as you can imagine I’m pretty soon running out of
space. I did find a setting for this neither in the app nor on my
smartphone. (all photos and videos taken directly with the smartphone
are saved to SD). Do you have any idea ?
By the way: facetracking works only if you set focus on “AF-C” Mode, and the external micro is really crap – not worth it.
Hi Scott,
I have a few questions.
1) Can it do a 360 Pano?
2) 360 vortex / inception mode?
3) What’s the bitrate of the recorded video?
4) Are there options in the app to calibrate the gimbal speed etc?
Cheers!
