Lenovo Mirage VR180 3D Camera Review – Videos and Photos

Buy it on Amazon – http://lon.tv/w2gnt (affiliate link) – Lenovo’s new 3D camera uses Google’s VR180 standard for 3D videos and photos. It’s a pretty fun experience with VR headsets including Google Cardboard. See more VR cameras: http://lon.tv/vrcam and subscribe! http://lon.tv/s

01:13 – Hardware overview
02:32 – Fingers appearing in photos/videos
03:20 – Shooting Modes
03:39 – Internal storage and SD card slot
04:48 – Battery life
05:49 – Mobile app controls
09:00 – Photo and video samples
11:32 – Stabilizer and motion shots
13:10 – Exporting, mostly limited to Google properties
13:33 – Facebook works for stills
14:57 – VR Daydream : YouTube and Google Photos

All in I was pleased with the video and photo quality from the camera. It doesn’t rival a traditional 2D camera but it is really cool to watch videos in 3D on a VR headset. Adds a new dimension and can be shared easily with cheap Google Cardboard headsets.

Terry Pullen says:

What a lame product. This thing is DOA it’s just missing to many features. No thanks.

John Chu says:

It is amazing how little information or samples from this camera before the launch. Thanks for providing good useful information!

Micah says:

Put an Apple logo on it, charge $800 and it will be the best selling camera on the market.

MobileDecay says:

Too bad this doesn’t work on Oculus Go. I can watch 360 video and 3d on youtube but I can’t see anything in 180 3d on Oculus Go. Neither can anyone else. ☹️

Eddie B says:

From Amazon: What is the expected battery life in length of recording and number of pictures?
Answer: The Lenovo Mirage Camera with Daydream comes with two 2,200 mAh batteries. One for use and the other for backup. Each one should last up to 2 hours. https://www.amazon.com/Integration-Smartphone-Compatibility-not-machine-specific/dp/B0793JTT3R/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&qid=1525466069&sr=8-3&keywords=mirage+solo&linkCode=sl1&tag=bachelordigsc-20&linkId=ce4b727e9577bf67a96a619511cd7580

Brandon Jones says:

To answer a question asked in the video: yes, the standard consumer package contains two batteries as well.

thefatveganchef says:

You might try importing the video in premier pro. They have a good support for vr and spatial audio. There are a couple of editing walkthrouhs on their channel by Jason Levine.

Allen Cheng says:

What’s the maximum continuous video recording time? Does it overheat and shutdown prematurely?

Jason Luong says:

Where are the 3D photos?

Kisato キサト says:

Do we know what portion of the FOV is actual stereo? (just like with human vision this camera has periphery that isn’t seen by both cameras at the same time)

rupert says:

off topic, but I love your porch and that stone pattern!

Justin Frost says:

crap it’s $300 for it too much for me to spend on it

Mke Canney says:

I think I want one of these….do I want one of these??

Milos Paripovic says:

I did not understand what happens when you get the photos from the SD card… are these individual L+R images, or side-by-side, are these already equirectangular or still in fisheye on the card?
