I would love to see a test of the AMD version of this Lenovo series. It is sold in my country (France) and it’s really cheaper and you can have a Ryzen7 2700U for the price of an I5. If you can get your hands on it it would be great!
Edit: It is also aviable in the UK.

John Mcenroe says:

pls review the teclast f5

Display is not good. It should be at 100% brightness all the time. Color accuracy also, i think 66%. And he said display is good!!!!!!Battery is around 2-3 hours. Unless you go with battery saver on and then no performance. I don’t understand where these “honest” reviews coming from. I had this laptop for 2 days and then returned. It also had alignment issue.

Great review as always Lon, thanks for looking at Linux. You know what I’m noticing with a lot of these Lenovos lately is the charger is one of those where the plug is connected right to the brick, it’s going to instantly take up three slots on my power strip.

Ramakrishna Salagrama says:

How is the screen brightness? I heard that it is comparatively low. Thanks in advance.

Droogie128 says:

A usb c port that only supports USB is redundant. Why not just put in a standard USB 3.0 port?

Time Loop says:

How is the display quality? Color accuracy?

Tomy D says:

Hi, great review!
two months ago you were reviewing Thinkpad e480
I was thinking of purchasing e480, but people on forums say it’s IPS screen is really bad
How bad/good is the e480 screen compared to this ideapad 530s?
Should I switch to 530s instead of e480? or their screens are pretty much the same?

Thx Lon.

Brian Becker says:

Hi, when running Ubuntu, does the SD-card also work? I have the Lenovo n22, and the SD-card is the only thing that doesn’t work with any Linux distro. Thanks.
