Acer Swift 1 Review – $359 Laptop with 13.3″ IPS Display and N4200 Processor SF113-31-P5CK

Buy one at Walmart – (affiliate link) – Acer’s Swift 1 has a new Apollo Lake processor and a 13.3″ IPS display. Build quality is pretty decent too but the keyboard needs improvement. See more laptops: and subscribe!

The Acer Swift 1 is a pretty good value at this price point – primarily due to its IPS display. It also has a finger print reader for easy access to the system when locked.

Its 2×2 AC wireless radio impressed us for web browsing but it falls short of a competing laptop from Asus with the same processor for graphics and gaming. That said the Asus crashed more often in our testing.

I like the weight and all metal casing. But the keyboard needs a little more time in the design lab.

Jumper Ezbook 3 Pro = $220.

Lukas G says:

You can get laptops with a Core i3 for cheaper, Only having a N4200 seems like a deal breaker

msmcshan1 says:

I paid 150 for a thinkpad x230 with a core i5 8gb ram and a 120gb ssd with a 720p IPS lcd display…that’s a deal this is not

Simon Inga says:

What about the webcam?

supernoob17 says:

hey lon love the channel, super appreciate the hard work that you put into these videos, but it would be cool if you could mention on these low spec laptop reviews whether or not the internal storage is upgradeable because as a casual observer it seems like it’s something these companies actively work to make unclear via a quick scan of their product page.

Romvnly Plays says:

30 FPS on Minecraft that is really bad

jt3000o says:

I don’t see the point of putting a USB C on a device that doesn’t work as a display out

RockstarBruski says:

Lon, nice review of the laptop! Inspired by you I made a review at of the HP Laserjet Pro MFP M477FDW printer / copier /scanner I recently bought. The review isn’t near as good or as thorough as one of your awesome reviews but I had fun creating it and thought I’d share my experience with the device as I’ve been looking for a good duplex scanner / printer to network to save me time in mostly scanning all the paperwork in my life! Let me know what you think of the review? Thanks 🙂 Bruce

Hi, consider replacing the manual HL2 benchmarking with HL2 Lost Coast’s built-in benchmark.

Mike Mao says:

This looks similar to the Jumper Ezbook 3

Brian Su says:

Sad to hear about the keyboard and battery life. I’m interested in hearing your updated thoughts about Chromebook versus Windows value laptops.

Neoand12 says:

This is strange. Why is this price as much as the new (2017) Acer Chromebook 15? Insane as this seem to be much better since it’s running Windows

Bullet Ant says:

It looks like the acer chromebook 14, which I like.i might buy it as a second laptop.

Nick B says:

looks like the EzBook 3 ro. Get the v4 Lon. Very great value for $219

richardpatrick32123 says:

One of the first, I think.

perkedel kornet says:

how about the temp when using cpu stress test

MRrwmac says:

Good review of what seems to be a very good affordable laptop! Thank you! Is the keyboard backlit, Lon?

Preston136 TM says:

Hey lon can you do a cheap 2 in 1 laptop

ZeroBlueOx says:

Got this one about a month ago at the beginning of college, I have no issues with it, runs videos well, has good battery, looks nice, easy portability, and for the price it’s a good value. Only issue I found I had was the keyboard was a bit meh, and obviously I am not alone.

Ian Grams says:

I see lots of desktop PC bundles of the PC, monitor, keyboard, ect. for under $200. Are these Amazon bundles any good compared to a sub $200 laptop?

DJDorianGray says:

Anyone knows if the SSD is replaceable?

Thies Frederik Rappen says:

Hey, Lon! I am looking to replace my Asus E200HA due to the sloppy Google Docs performance, even after a fresh install and nothing besides Chrome on it. Would you mind making a followup-video with further details about the keyboard as i kinda liked the feel of the Asus even though it is not comparable to the mechanical keyboard on my desktop.

Gamex996 says:

Can u do a video on acer switch 3

Spuds says:

I guess this ‘puter may not be so “swift”! 🙂
