shaggynathanincolo says:

What is the purpose of having GPS? My ID-51 has GPS for D-Star and finding near repeaters and showing how far away I am from them. My uniden scanner has the option of adding a GPS for location based scanning. If I get this radio I would use it on DMR (and also analog) repeaters in Colorado. Is it worth getting the 390 or should I just get the 380? Thanks!

George Kalogeris says:

Can I get the co-ordinates of my colleague when he’s just talking to me? So do I need two of these units?
Or can I use analog+GPS units ?

youri cappis says:

is there a way to manualy enter a frequency to use with other analog radios?

Donny Mazon says:

will that work with aprs?

trylleklovn says:

Got an MD-390 and looking forward to getting one of the new GPS ones as well. At least here in Denmark, the DMR network accepts GPS info and routes it to the APRS network, so that positions can be viewed on for instance aprs.fi. Btw there is an update out for the MD-390 standard version 3.20 so you can update yours, there is a few bugfixes and the inclusion of 1750hz for fm repeaters.
