Hi there, nice Video!
Iam with you, that the logitech harmony system isn’t talked enough about. But the way you described in the video is only a smal part of that, what the harmony can do.
1. Activitys can activate multiple Devices, set in- and output of them and map them right. For example. If you have a receiver, a soundsystem and a TV, you just create an activity using all three of them. If you now say “Increase the volume”, the volume of the soundsystem increases (not the one of the TV, if you mapped it right). If you say “Change to channel 7”, it will change the channel to 7 on the receiver. The basic idea is, to add all devices you need for an activity to one activity. In your example maybe the fireplace would be nice to add. (i also have an audio switch to change optical input which is also changing based on the activity)
2. Harmony also supports Phillips HUE. So you can also add the HUE to your activity. Lets just say you add the activity “TV”, it will start receiver, tv, sound system and will switch to the right scene on your HUE.
3. HUE supports Osram Plugs. So, with Harmony, HUE and an Osram Plug, you can create activitys, that include power on, devices on etc. and will switch power off, when you close the activity.
4. The Harmony remote also has 2 buttons for Powerplugs and 2 buttons for Lights
5. You can change the activation settings for your different devices. For example, if your TV needs 15 secs to boot, there would be no use if you send the “TV on” signal and right after it the “Change Input to HDMI 1” (For example, if you want to alternate between different consoles and TV. So in Harmony you just configure the boottime of the TV to 15 secs and the signal to switch input will come after 15 secs.
6. If you have a HTPC, you can controle it with Bluetooth and Harmony.
I try to configure nearly all routines with my Harmony, because my girlfriend likes to use the remote. But that way she can have her way and i can have my voice commands. But in theory, you can do nearly everything with the harmony elite alone.
*This remote is the best I ever owned.>>>**t.co/NG1Sre65Zk** I have devices in 2 closed cabinets and an Nvidia Shield that uses a bluetooth controller and this remote controls them all without having to point at the screen. The hub is a must for anyone setting up a smart home.*
I AM PLANNING TO BUY HARMONY WHICH MODEL SHUD I PREFER ??
CHEAP & BEST
BASIC NEED IS TO CONNECT ALEXA
CAN I CONNECT AC & REMOTE CONTROL FAN ???
THANKS
@TeQreation what happens when you’d like to turn off one activity while keeping another still active (using Harmony)? Does it not shut down everything?
What smart alarm system are you using?
Maybe the reason why the Harmony isn’t really mentioned is because IT’S SO EXPENSIVE. Though, to be honest, I have never tried it myself so I cannot tell you from personal experience that if this device is worth the money.
The harmony hub is amazing
Great info! Thank you so much. Didn’t know about the harmony remote! Ordering now!!!
What kind of harmony do you have because I looking at bad reviews on Amazon. The one I saw was the one for $179 . But the reviews are making me think twice.
What’s your take?
Great overview / walkthrough… If you make others it wouldn’t be nice to have the Alexa / Google trigger words muted… I’m sure you know why
Really cool video and interesting concept with the intigration of those accent lights. I can see potential for a lot of things using that system!
Awesome vid
Come on man. Your tech is yeas behind. Get Home Assistant and automate. It is not cool to tell GH or Alexa to do each shit and bit. Use broadlink not to Harmony Hub and Also much cheaper E-wlink and Xiomi Bulbs that would do same things cheaper
why the fuck do you have grey ramen noodles on yo head
This is a cool video. The one thing I can’t find is an app that works like a smart touchscreen hub and ties all the lights together like having a tablet on the wall to control everything through one app via a base station
Not related to smart home or home automation but I was just curious how you got jellyfish to run on your TV. Is it a screensaver or wallpaper of some sort? Thanks!
This was mind blowing. You should have more subscribers hope you become more successful. Awesome video looking forward to many more
damn welcome to the future :O
my google home kept replying “sorry I don’t understand” lmao
Thanks, Man. I’ve been wondering if possible to control IR or RF dumblights with a Harmony or Broadlink y you did it!! Nice set up btw.
Hey TeQeation I think you will find the BOND useful http://www.bondhome.io
what security camera was that on your ceiling?
Your beard isnt centred
This is EXACTLY what I am looking for! Thank you!
Hey so I had to get up from my couch and mute the home’s mic bc you kept changing the lights in my apartment
Hey bro. Nice video. How did you get Google Home to control your tv without Chromecast?
